Terms of Service

  • The Switch Stitch operates all commissions in a 3 phase procedure, Application/waitlist, Pre-Production, and Production phase

    WAITLIST:

    • All suit commissioners must first apply for a que slot, for those who do not get a que slot or if we are not currently open for commissions you can request to be put on our waitlist, The folks on our waitlist get first pick for available commission slots when we open. This is or application phase.

    • For those ordering Sona cloaks, the process is the same, there is just a separate que and waitlist for these projects as the turnaround time is faster and only measurements are required.

    • The time from being put on our waitlist to getting a que slot can vary depending on the time of year, please do not request to join our waitlist unless you are ready to engage in a commission.

    • This is the time to order your Zentai or Tyvek base layer for your DTD if you are commissioning a fursuit or quadsuit

    • This is the time to prepare your suit ref, or commission one if you have not already.

    PRE-PRODUCTION PHASE:

    • When we open for new commissions, The Switch Stitch will first reach out to customers on the waitlist to confirm they are ready for a slot. Any remaining slots will then be offered to new commissioners

    • You must have a clear idea and reference for your commission at this phase as this is when your price will be agreed upon and finalized based on the design criteria you have requested

    • A 25% NON REFUNDABLE deposit will be required at this phase to secure your que slot, and cover the costs of all necessary supplies for your project.

    • You will be required to ship your DTD to the provided address at your own cost during this phase. Please be prompt with shipping your DTD as delays in shipping can effect our production schedule and your que slot position (The Switch Stitch reserves the right to adjust your que slot order in our production schedule if you delay in sending us your DTD)

    • Pre-Production phase usually takes 4-6 weeks before all materials have been received

    PRODUCTION PHASE:

    • The production order will be determined by The Switch Stitch based on the order commissioners secure their que slot, and have paid for their commission

    • Upon receiving the commissioner’s DTD and all other materials, and once their slot is next in line, The Switch Stitch will contact the commissioner to inform them we are ready to proceed to the Production Phase

    • This is the final and longest phase. The Switch Stitch requires the remaining 75% of your commission cost to be paid in full before beginning this phase for any project.

    • ABSOLUTELY NO SUIT CONSTRUCTION will occur until the reference has been confirmed with the customer and the remaining outstanding balance has been paid in full

    • The Switch Stitch produces our suits in small batches, the customer will receive WIP update photos as different aspects of the suit construction occur, please look at them CLOSELY and give feedback

    • Upon completion of your commission The Switch Stitch will contact the customer and provide completion photos for their review. We will re-confirm their shipping address and work to plan a delivery date range that works for them.

    • The Switch Stitch ships Internationally with DHL, we have worked to get reasonable shipping rates, all shipping and customs fees will be the sole responsibility of the customer and are NOT reflected in the price of the commission. Once shipping has been calculated and a label generated, The Switch Stitch will send a Paypal request for the cost of the shipping which MUST be paid promptly before the suit is shipped

    • The Switch Stitch ships all Fursuit and Quadsuit commissions with a Galaxy Tag tracking device in the box to ensure we can track your suit at all times and ensure it makes it to you without getting lost. The cost of this tag is included in the price of your commission and is yours to do with as you wish after you receive your suit

  • The Switch Stitch will accept payment plans for suit commissions, however preference will be given to commissioners who do not require them.

The Switch Stitch requires a 25% non-refundable down payment at the beginning of the commission to secure your Que slot. This is referred to in the production schedule as the “Pre-Production phase” all creative discussions involving design, color, materials will take place during this phase.

Up to 4 monthly payments can be scheduled to pay the remaining balance of the suit cost. These payments must be made at the
beginning of each month and any additional transaction fees for these payments will be the responsibility of the commissioner.

Final payment MUST be received BEFORE construction can begin. The Switch Stitch currently uses Paypal as the primary payment processor, the commissioner is guaranteed security through paypal’s good’s and services system.

Late payments will result in change to production schedule with a later completion and ship date. Multiple missed payments without communication from the commissioner can be grounds for termination of the project.

PayPal, once again, is the preferred form of payment.

The Switch Stitch is not responsible for lost or late payments. Shipping is not included in the price of the commissioned project. Tax and local customs or duties are not included in the quoted price of the project and are the sole responsibility of the commissioner.

  • The first 25% of the entire cost of the fursuit is nonrefundable. If it has been longer than 12 months from full payment of your commission and your project has not been started then you may request a refund for any moneys paid beyond the 25% deposit.

If payments cease and contact cannot be established, your commission will be considered to be abandoned and terminated, a refund will not be issued of any kind and you will no longer entitled to the commissioned suit or materials.

The Switch Stitch does not accept returns, all commissions are considered final sale, as they are bespoke works of wearable art, uniquely crafted for the commissioner and cannot be returned, with the exception of warranty or repair work.

  • Please have one or more references of your character with all colors and desired design elements defined, this will assure that your commission is completed accurately and efficiently.

For folks who do not have a ref but are still interested in having a suit made, we do offer a very basic suit design consultation

for the price of $500 USD we do a basic design consult for you which will include a rough ref sheet and 2 revisions.

FULL DISCLOSURE - We are NOT digital artists, the ref sheet we provide will NOT be a work of art, but will define out colors and design features for the purposes of building a suit. We strongly recommend commissioning one of the many extremely tallented artists in our community to have a ref sheet made.

The Switch Stitch is not responsible for including anything that is not present on the agreed concept art.

  • All customers must be at least 18 years of age to commission a custom fursuit. There are no exceptions to this rule.

If the age written in the commission form is not correspondent to the client’s actual age, The Switch Stitch reserves the right to cancel the commission

  • All Fursuit and Quadsuit commissions require the commissioner to send in a duct tape dummy.

    For Quadrupedal Fursuits (Quadsuits/Bitchsuits):

To make your Quadsuit DTD please follow our Duct Tape Dummy Quadsuit Procedure

*The best base layer for a quadsuit DTD is a zentai quadsuit, these are available from several sources, below are a few links (There is shipping times to consider so order early in the process)

    Zentai Quadsuit on Amazon

    Zentai Quadsuit on Aliexpress

    For Bipedal Fursuits:

*The best base material for an upright duct tape dummy is a Tyvek painters suit purchasable from hardware stores or amazon for example: https://www.homedepot.com/p/TRIMACO-DuPont-Tyvek-XL-Painters-Coverall-with-Hood-and-Boots-141232-12HD/203555521

*The DTD is REQUIRED to go down over your heels at the least. The entire foot is preferred.

*When make your DTD, Keep your arms at as straight out as possible.

*Tape as close to your arm pit as possible. Not doing so will result in lower mobility of your arms. The Switch Stitch CANNOT be responsible for ill-fitting suits due to poor DTD construction.

Bellow is a great video tutorial for how to make a dtd (Not made or associated with The Switch Stitch)

We DO NOT require a DTD for a Sona Cloak, these we make off of predesigned paterns and only need some basic measurements from our customers

  • Shipping is NOT included in the price for any suit work. This includes commissions, refurbishments or repairs. The Switch Stitch Primarily ships using DHL for all international shipments. we can ship with Fedex, or UPS at the customer’s discretion but the rates will be higher.

Shipping costs vary, within the United States usually costs around $150-$200.

Shipping internationally will vary. Please keep in mind that it can be expensive but usually ranges between $200-$400.

The Switch Stitch requires that all packages are insured to the full price of the suit that they contain, so please plan ahead as the more expensive your project is, the more it will cost to ship

  • The Switch Stitch reserves the right to deny any customer service for reasons to be determined by The Switch Stitch. This includes if the commissioner is rude, threatening or otherwise unreasonable.

Harassment is not tolerated in any way. Should the commissioner display harassment of any sort, The Switch Stitch reserves the right to drop the project without any warning.

  • Clients can reach us through e-mail, Telegram, Twitter/Instagram Direct Messages, but our preferred communication methods are Email or Telegram for their reliability and speed, we try to respond to all customer communications as fast as possible.

If a client response is required to continue to the next step of the commission, and no response is provided within 3 business days, you will be pushed back by one slot in the commission queue until the message is responded to

  • The Switch Stitch DOES NOT take or commit to deadlines of any sort.

We have been successful at maintaining an approximately 3 month turnaround time in the Production Phase, which is something we strive to maintain but we DO NOT commit to set completion dates.

It is possible to ask about having the suit completed by a certain date, however, The Switch Stitch is not obligated to meet this time span. It is possible to work around this deadline for an additional 50% of the cost of the suit should the target date be in reason.

  • We ask that you do not make any changes to the costume design once the price and completion date are set, we consider the project design to be “Locked” when your commission is in the Production Phase. Any changes made after can cause the price or completion date to change.

We will work during the Pre-Production Phase to cover any details before the commission is in the Production Phase.

Please do not hesitate to ask about changes, as some minor changes will not affect the price or completion time. Changes that will effect price and completion times include, but are not limited to: added colors, added markings, special requests, and anything that requires new materials to be ordered.

  • The Switch Stitch offers free repairs within the year of purchase*. We stand by our product but are only human and sometimes mistakes are made. Please send us a message so we can discuss the best course of action.

After a full year has elapsed, repairs are available, but at a cost. Pricing can be discussed depending on the damage to the costume.

Clients are required to thoroughly clean their costume before sending it in for repairs. The Switch Stitch will not work on or repair a suit that is obviously not clean

*Repairs within reason due to fault of maker such as a faulty seam or zipper. If the suit has been clearly or fundamentally damaged by client in a fashion outside of traditional wear or through negligence (large tears, burns, stains, or damage due to heat from leaving your head in a hot car or similar) the client will bear the responsibility of payment for repair costs.

The Switch Stitch offers a 30-day window, from the time the commissioner receives their completed commission in the mail, to mail the suit back for a warranty/defect repair at our expense.

The Customer bears the responsibility of all shipping costs for warranty & Repair work outside of the 30-day window

  • The Switch Stitch reserves the right to decline your order for any reason.

Your commission will never get cancelled midway through the project, unless in extremely rare circumstances where the client is being overly hostile and uncooperative, or where payments and all communication from the client have ceased and cannot be re-established

You may cancel the project at any time during the Pre-Production Phase. In cases where your commission is in the Production Phase but construction of your commission has not yet been started, you have a right to a 75% refund less the applicable fees associated with the payment processor.

In cases where your commission is in progress or completed, you no longer have a right to a refund. In cases where The Switch Stitch cancels your commission without cause, you have a right to a full refund.

If you are unresponsive for over a month, or if you are late for a payment by over twice the length of agreed upon time between payments, your commission slot may be terminated, and you may lose the right to a refund. Please do not miss payments without lear communication.

  • The Switch Stitch is not liable for any injuries you retain while using any of our Fursuits or Quadsuits. In order to assure your safety, please be sure to stay hydrated, and abide by your body’s limitations as overheating is a common occurrence in all fursuits and there is an additional cramping risk if too long is spent in a quadsuit. Always avoid overly crowded areas as to not become a tripping hazard.
